Breckenridge Birthday Weekend!

I had such an amazing 31st birthday because it fell on the same weekend that we decided to do our annual Breckenridge weekend.  We have done this for about 4 years now and it is always one of the highlights of the year for me.  There is something so relaxing, peaceful and care-free about spending a few days in the mountains with just my boys.  Craig's parents have a timeshare at one of the resorts, and although we don't use the timeshare, we always stay at this same resort because we love everything about it!

We stay at the Grand Timber Lodge and if you are ever planning a get-away to Breck for the weekend, this place is amazing!! 

We headed up Friday after work and spent the evening playing on the playground by the pool, eating at the poolside restaurant, drinking a few beers, playing shuffleboard and swimming.  It was such a relaxing way to start a perfect weekend...

Saturday morning was my actual birthday so we woke up and had a fun picnic breakfast of powdered donuts - the boys LOVED them!  I got to open a few presents and then we headed to the gondola to ride up to the top of the mountain and play at the kids fun center!

After a fun morning we headed back to our hotel for lunch and to put Brady down for a nap.  Craig and I took turns and he stayed with Brady while I went to the pool with Chase for an hour, then we switched and Craig went to the pool and I waited for Brady to wake up.  Once Brady was awake we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening playing in the pool, eating the AMAZING pizza at the poolside restaurant and of course playing a little more shuffleboard :)  Such a perfect and relaxing time!

As the sun went down we headed back to our room for baths, birthday cake and silly fun in our room.  The boys were definitely on a sugar high and were jumping on all the furniture and being wild ones....then they crashed and burned and Craig and I got to drink some wine and watch a movie :)

Sunday morning we woke up, packed up and headed out on our favorite hike that Craig's parents discovered a few years ago!  It is so cute and easy enough that Chase has no problem walking the whole thing.  He had so much fun with his "hiking stick" and throwing rocks into the river all along the way :)

After our hike we headed home so we would miss the mountain traffic coming home on Sunday afternoon.  As we arrived home I got one more birthday surprise!  Waiting in our kitchen was a brand new bike for me!!!  Yay!  Craig and I have been needing bikes so we could go on family bike rides.  The next week Craig bought a bike and we got a trailer for Brady and we have been going on tons of family bike rides as the summer winds down :)

Another successful Breckenridge weekend in the books...here's to a fabulous 31st year!
