Easter Egg Dying

To be honest, I was kind of dreading dying Easter eggs this year.  That sounds horrible but let me explain....I love love love Easter; however, there are some activities that come with every holiday that are a little painful with small children.  Some of those activities include carving pumpkins and decorating Christmas cookies....they look so cute and amazing in pictures but the reality behind the camera is that it is a mess and the clean up and stress it puts on me is exhausting, lol!  HOWEVER, we always do it because I know the kids love it and the 5 minutes they are into it are worth the memories!  With that being said, I was so incredibly surprised at how fun dying Easter eggs really was this year!!  The boys were being nice to each other and I went into the project knowing there was a good possibility I would be throwing their clothes away.  So, when Brady dyed his eggs by clenching them in his fist and dunking his entire fists in cups of dye, then wiping them all over his shirt and moving on to the next color, I didn't even bat an eye!  It is all about expectations going in :)
We had a great time and they were so excited to mix colors and watch the eggs turn bright easter shades.  Chase even got creative with the wax crayon this year and made some designs before dying!
