9 Months

9 Months on April 10th!

There she goes!

Weight: 16lbs exactly!   10th-25th percentile
Length:  27 1/4in           25th-50th percentile
Head: 17 1/2in              50th-75th percentile

I am way late on this post but our life is busy busy busy!!!  Hadley is definitely one of the busiest ones in the house!  She is still a little peanut but has a personality that is larger than life.  She is SO independent except when it comes to Mommy...she is still very attached to me and if I am an option in the room she will not let anyone else hold her (besides Daddy.)  I feel bad because friends and family always want to hold her but she wants nothing to do with it!  She doesn't like to be held too much in general though these days anyway...she wants to be on the move!!!  She crawls normally now and the days of army crawling are gone and man alive, is she fast!  She constantly pulls herself up and when she falls down she laughs hysterically.  She can cruise along the furniture and walk using her little walker toy to hold onto but she hasn't independently walked yet.  I am actually surprised because I could have sworn she would be walking by now but she just doesn't seem to want to yet :)  It will be soon and I think it will look so funny because of how tiny she still is :)

CLOTHES:
Hads is wearing mostly 9 month clothes but some 6-9 months outfits still definitely fit.  All her jammies are 9 months except a couple 6 months ones that she can still squeeze into.  I bought a 12 month zip up hoodie the other day and it actually fits!  Diapers are still a size 2.

EATING:
She is doing a great job eating and we are trying to experiment with more stuff all the time!  She still takes 6-7 4 oz bottles of formula throughout the day and I still make all of her baby food from scratch.  If I can do it, anyone can do it!  It really doesn't take very long, it is cheap and it makes me feel good to know that I will not have any disgusting moments of finding weird stuff in baby food jars.  I know the ingredients are pure and fresh!  Her favorites are carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, bananas and peas.  She likes apples and pears ok.  She isn't a fan of avocado but I will keep trying that one.  She loves yogurt, crackers, puffs and Gerber veggie and cheese sticks.  I have tried some more solid foods like cheese and blueberries but she doesn't seem to be totally ready for that yet. Not sure her 3 teeth are helping her enough yet, lol!

Chase and Brady loves feeding her and it is hilarious watching them feed her puffs one by one on spoons :)  She has been able to feed herself for a few months now though and is a master of self feeding from hand to mouth.

TEETH:
She has 3 teeth now and it is so funny the order they are coming in.  She got her bottom two first, which is normal, but usually you then get the top two next.  Not Hads....she got her fang on the left side of her mouth as her 3rd tooth!  I asked and it is totally normal, just not very common.  It will be interesting to see what comes in next, hopefully not the right fang or she will look like a vampire baby!

SLEEPING:
Since this post is so late, things have changed for the better but as of 9 months we were still getting up once, and sometimes, twice at night to feed her.  We tried to let her cry it out a few times but it was miserable and we kept giving in and feeding her so she would go back to sleep!  I got my hand slapped at her 9 month appt and things are completely different now but this was the correct status as of April 10th :)

She is taking 2 naps a day still and usually the second one is longer.  At Grandma & Papa's she sleeps a lot better than at daycare.  At Grandma & Papa's she typically sleeps an hour in the morning and like 2 hours in the afternoon.  Daycare is usually like 30 minutes in the morning and an hour in the afternoon.

PLAYING:
Hads is constantly on the move and is crawling throughout the house looking for what she can put in her mouth - lol - it is exhausting!  The worst part is since she has 2 older brothers, even though we literally vaccuum at least once a day, there are still little crumbs all the time from her messy brothers!  We always have to scour the floor for toys/food/etc.  You don't notice it with your first born and it isn't even as bad the 2nd time but with 2 older ones now it is a constant cleaning job.  She also loves crawling to doorstops and playing with them.  Sometimes we try to move the ottomans around to block her into the family room but she gets soo mad!  She looks for a way out and usually gets stuck trying to squeeze between our big arm chair and the wall.

Hadley, some of your favorite things at 9 months are:
* Your brothers (especially when they play ball)
* Rolling a ball back and forth on the floor with someone
* Walks
* Spoons
* Playing peekaboo, especially with a blanket
* Water bottles
* Chewing on everything
* Baths - she started taking real baths this month just sitting up in the tub!  She is a dare devil and always trying to dive under the water and thinks she is so funny.  I think it is scary and my hands are 2 inches from her the whole time but she has a ball :)
* Pulling up on everything
* Crawling around in the loft and our bedroom
* Trying to chew on puzzle pieces while your brothers are building them (and they love it let me tell ya)

Hadley girl, we love you so much!  You are truly adored my Daddy and I and you
are the center of your brothers worlds!
