We decided to join the world of Elf on the Shelf this year and he arrived in perfect time! He was delivered from the North Pole on Friday just as we were decorating for Christmas. The boys (especially Chase) were so excited to open the package and see their own Elf! Let's be honest, Brady didn't really care and was only into popping the bubbles in the package...BUT, once that was done, then he was excited about the Elf :)
It was like magic from the moment they opened the box...although we did touch him before reading the story and realizing that was a big no no - oops!
We read the story and asked them what to name him and Chase said "Bell" right away!
Works for us - Bell it is!
We took pictures once we realized we messed up and touched him so we decided it was ok to take pictures with him and then they had to kiss him goodbye and we put him on the mantle and no more touching from then on!
This picture cracks me up...Brady has the best cheesy smile with the Elf, Chase is saying Hadley is too heavy and he can't hold her much longer and Hads is just smiling away!
The first few days Chase asked a lot of questions about how Bell could see them at school and through walls, etc but once he realized my answer every time was "magic" the questions have slowed down :) It is so amazing to watch how much they believe though - seriously nothing like the magic of little kids and Santa/Christmas/Elves, etc!
Bell has been doing his job and I am loving how much it does help them to make better decisions and how much we can reference Bell at night :) I would have paid a lot more than $30 for this baby - haha!
