12 Months

Oh my word, I cannot even believe how late this post is!!  12 months feels like an eternity ago but I will do my best to remember what our sweet Hadley girl was doing 3 months ago!

Weight:  17lbs 13.6oz (10-25 percentile)
Length: 28 3/4in (25-50 percentile)
Head: 17 7/8in (50-75 percentile)

Eating/Drinking:
She is eating pretty much every thing we are now and we just cut it up in small pieces and see if she will try it :)  Some of her favorites are still: yogurt, bananas, peas, cereal, fruit/veggie pouches, chips (salt kid), sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, pasta, and applesauce.  She will pretty much try everything but she is also in the amazing stage of throwing everything!  Seriously, that is my least favorite thing about this age.  She all of a sudden decides she is done eating and throws everything at lightning speed off her tray!!  We try to stop it and sometimes we beat her to it but most times we are cleaning the floors every night ;)  We transitioned to whole milk the day after her 12 month appt.  I am a stickler for organic milk during this time so even though it is expensive, it is definitely cheaper than formula!  We haven't done an amazing job with transitioning away from a bottle.  With the boys it was a non issue and we took it away and it was nothing!  Hadley is a different story and is definitely having a harder time.  (Update - she now uses only sippie cups all day long for milk and water but we still cave to a bottle first thing in the morning and right before bed)

Sleeping:
Hads is an amazing sleeper - yay!!  We had a pretty tough time with her up until 9 months and then she started sleeping through the night.  At 12 months she consistently would go to bed at 7:30pm and wake up about 6am.  Every night we say "Night night time?" and she shakes her head and runs away, seriously makes us die laughing every night :)  But then you pick her up and grab her blankie and pacifier and she is ready to go,  We read books in her rocking chair while she drinks her last bottle and she dives into her crib at the end and goes right to sleep!  Right around 12 months we transitioned from 2 naps to 1 nap and it has been awesome!  It is so hard to do things with 2 naps so it has made it much easier on everyone.  She typically goes down between 12-1 and will sleep for 2-3 hours.

Walking:
Hadley took her first real steps on June 27th!  We were at our friends, Steve and Julie's, for dinner and she decided to put 7-8 steps together!!  The rest of that weekend she continued to go farther and farther and it was so cute to watch her brothers cheer her on and see how proud she was of herself! Hadley was our latest walker but she was by far the most stable!!  Chase and Brady walked closer to 10 months but they were sooo wobbly and unstable for like a month.  Hadley started going and was incredibly stable from day 1!

Playing/Personality:
Hadley is such an outgoing independent girl!  She waves at everyone and blows them kisses and you can truly see strangers melt in front of her as she dazzles them with her skills - haha!  But man alive, is she independent!!  She is stubborn already and has to do everything herself :)  She developed this awful scream literally the day she turned 1 and was killing all of our ears!  Brady and Chase would say "we have to kick that screaming in the butt!" It was pretty hilarious.  (Update - We survived and it lasted a few months but it is finally over - thank goodness!)  As far as other things she loves to do....she loves the swings, playing games like peekaboo, reading books, playing with bubbles and chalk, going for walks in her buggy car and being outside!

She has a serious sweet tooth!
Brady is still our anti-sweets kids but Hadley has Chase's love of ice cream :)

Such a big girl!

She loves bathtime!  You say, "let's go take a bath" and she runs towards the stairs!

Watching her brothers play sports...I see a lot of this in her future :)

Shopping buddy

The day she conquered the stairs!  We take our baby gates pretty early and we choose to teach our kiddos how to use them instead of having gates up for years.  We are incredibly careful however I will never forget this day.  I had gone to the kitchen to grab her snack she was eating and came back and she was 3/4 up the stairs...I followed her up and she got to the top, walked over and grabbed a toy and sat down and looked at me with the biggest, proudest smile ever!  Haha!

We absolutely adore you Hadley girl and you have brought so much sunshine into all of our lives!
