Hadley is 1 Month!

I can't believe Hadley turned 1 month old on August 10th!
I swear it is going faster and faster with each kid...slow down time!

Hadley humored me and did so great during her first monthly photo shoot with her giant teddy.  She already looks so much bigger than she did when we took her first pictures in the hospital.  I will say though...pictures are deceiving because she looks way bigger than I feel like she really is.  She is still wearing newborn clothes and starting to fit into 0-3 months ones.

1 month old stats about Hads:

WEIGHT:
We don't have a formal appt until she is 2 months but I stood on a scale with and without her last week and she is approx 9 lbs!

SLEEPING:
She was getting up twice a night (around 2am and 4am) but now she usually gets up just once a night.  She usually goes to sleep around 10:30-11pm and then she wakes up around 2:30-3am.  She will eat, get a diaper change and then she is usually awake about an hour and a half.  Then she goes back to sleep and wakes up around 5:30-6am.  Last Friday night she slept through the night for the first time - woo hoo!!  She went to bed at 11:45pm and didn't wake up until 5:45am!!

She likes being swaddled at night now and so she sleeps in a sleep sack with another blanket around her legs.  During the day she takes little cat naps all day long.  She sleeps great when I hold her but as soon as I put her down (in the pack and play, in the swing or on the ground on the boppy) she usually wakes up about 5 minutes later -yikes!  Sometimes she will get a good nap in the pack and play but she doesn't seem to sleep as long as she does if I hold her.

EATING:
Hads wants to nurse about every 2 hours (except at night).  She eats super fast and only nurses for like 10 minutes, at the most, but she is efficient and is satisfied and done after that length of time.  We tried a bottle of breastmilk the other day to try and get her to take a bottle and it was a huge failure!  She choked and cried and hated it so we will need to work on that before I go back to work.  I haven't left her yet, except to run to the grocery for 30 minutes, and looks like I can't until we get the whole bottle thing down!  We have not used any formula and I already have quite a storage of frozen breastmilk that is starting to grow.

PLAYTIME:
Hadley likes her playmat and especially likes tummy time!  The boys hated tummy time but she loves it and even will fall asleep while she is like that.  Like mother, like daughter...my favorite way to sleep!  She is starting to like her swing a little more but still isn't a huge fan.  I always laugh because I am used to the boys and feel like I should be playing with her when she is awake but there isn't much to do with a 5 week old, so we snuggle a lot :)

We've been using the "moms on call" method since Trace was 2 weeks old and it's worked wonders for getting him on a reasonable eat, play, sleep schedule. He sleeps SO well at night, naps good in his crib throughout the day and his internal body clock knows when it's time to eat. Every blogger out there told me to use this method and to use it loosely. Sounds like Hadley is perfection in every category, but considering how you have 2 other kiddos running around, I thought this might help a bit. She's seriously so cute, Lori! I love how all of your kids look like siblings, yet have their own distinct look. You look so happy and not tired at all. Super mom? Haha... I think so!!
