Breckenridge is one of our favorite places to visit! We have been going one weekend every summer ever since we moved here and it is always a highlight of the summer for us! We always stay in the same resort and it is perfect for everyone..great pool, great hottubs, bar service at the pool, playground next to the pool for the kids and gorgeous scenery with lots of hiking nearby. It also has a free shuttle into town and to the gondola that takes us to ride the alpine slide.
The past few years Craig and I and the kids have spent a weekend as just our family of 4 in the mountains. This year, Craig's parents had their timeshare for a week at the end of July. They invited all of the kids and grandkids to come and stay as long as we could. With Hadley only being 2 weeks old we decided to just stay 1 night. We had a great 2 days up there but the night was definitely brutal. Hadley was up all night and I think I got maybe 2 hours of sleep all in. It was worth it though and we had a great time enjoying the mountains!
Meeting up with Don & Jill and the kids for lunch as soon as we got there Sunday afternoon.
Jill and the kids loving a chance to see Hadley again
Posing with the beautiful scenery!
After lunch the kids couldn't change into their swimsuits fast enough! We spent the rest of the afternoon poolside and the kids had a blast together. Poor Craig got run ragged by Brady going from pool to pool! Brady had to keep his head dry because he had just gotten his stitches 2 days earlier. He loved to go from the indoor hottub to the outdoor hottub to the pool to the playground...you get the idea :) I hung out with Hads on the pool deck since neither or us could go in the pool yet!
Trying to keep him still for a few minutes :)
Chase showing off his special shirley temple drink!
After a few hours in the pool we went to the room, got changed and came back down to look for sticks and roast marshmallows for smores!
Beautiful flowers down by the pool
Playing some cornhole before roasting our smores
On the hunt for perfect marshmallow roasting sticks!
We decided to take a family photo but first we had to convince Brady to join us!
Got it :) Hadley is in there, just a little hidden!
Yup this is my kid...there is fire in there! Totally fearless and a total troublemaker! Oh and his pants are wet because he jumped in every puddle he could find...
But dang he is cute :)
Smores!
Man I love this place!
The next day we headed to the gondola and rode it up the mountain so the kids could do the alpine coaster. Brady LOVED riding the gondola and Chase had so much fun on the alpine coaster. I spent my time up there feeding Hadley - which I guess is pretty exciting for her at 2 weeks old :)
Checking out the river before getting on the gondola...
Hadley riding the gondola :)
Until next summer...
