Big Boy Bed

There were tears in my eyes as we made the big "move" this weekend.. Chase is growing up and it was time for his Big Boy bed! We have been meaning to move Chase into a bed for a few months but we just never had the time and he was still happy in his crib so it took awhile to get done. This weekend we finally got his new furniture and bed.

Sunday Craig ran over and picked up his furniture and mattress while Chase and I headed to Target to buy his new "Sports" themed room - of course - could we do anything different with this child?! Ha Ha I was absolutely dying at how excited Chase was about his bedding with baseballs, footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, etc and he kept yelling all of them out loud! As we were checking out he told everyone in line about his new big boy bed with the footballs and baseballs :)

Sunday afternoon we had to move all Chase's furniture into the Baby's room (aka Chase's playroom) so thus we had to clean out the playroom and organize, pack up and move toys and then finally get Chase's new room together - whew.. I am exhausted remembering it! Plus we had an issue with Chase's headboard, it was missing bolts and chipped - awesome - so needless to say that is in our room needing to get exchanged. We got it done though and check out the result...

We still have some decorating to do... Craig will be painting one accent wall blue, I have to repaint Chase's name letters and a shelf and we have sports decals to put up on the walls. I will post more pics once it is all together!

We have had 2 nights in the big boy bed and it is going great. Both nights I had to lay with Chase about an hour and half till he fell alseep but once he fell asleep he slept all night - yay! An hour and a half probably sounds long to lay there but when it consists of Chase giving me hugs, playing with my hair and giving kisses - it's sort of heaven on earth:) Last night as I was laying there I realized how much I need to soak up moments like that because in 1 month there will be 2 babies to take care of! I am trying to enjoy every second of Chase time I can while I can.

Congrats Chase on your Big Boy bed - you are growing up so fast before our very eyes!

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for this year. I am thankful for the 2 special boys in my life - Craig & Chase - who keep life fun, loving, exciting & complete! I am thankful that I am done traveling so that I can spend 7 nights a week at home to enjoy every piece of them. I am thankful for a baby kicking away happily in my belly and sharing his/her hiccups with me every night (just like Chase.) I am thankful for an amazing family on both my side and Craig's - I've realized in the past few years that we are so incredibly lucky to have such strong supportive families that we love to spend time with. I am thankful for our health and for the health of many friends and family that had to deal with some tough times this year. I am thankful for our new home and life in Colorado that has brought us such joy and accomplishment.

This Thanksgiving is the 1st one I have ever spent with Craig's family so it was definitely a whole new - but great - experience! We spent the morning at home with the 3 of us enjoying a slow morning and yummy breakfast. The rest of the day and night was spent at Craig's parents house where we had a great meal and enjoyed spending time together and watching football. Marvin's birthday is December 1st so we also celebrated his birthday on Thanksgiving. I got a few pics of all the grandkids helping him open gifts and blow out candles :)

Marae, Ashlyn & Chase loving on eachother...

Chase & Ashlyn - too cute!

Daddy being silly

Our family picture got invaded by some nieces and nephews - ha ha! Such cuties :)

At 10pm on Thanksgiving night Craig, Jill, Don and I decided to try and go to Toys R Us because they were opening at 10pm with all their sales. I don't know what we were thinking but as we were driving it literally looked like field of dreams with the single line of cars heading towards the store! We drove past saying "Heck No" as we saw hundreds, if not thousands, of people waiting to get inside! It was insane! Craig ended up going back the next morning and getting some great toys still at 50% off :) I'm not sure Black Friday is for me!

Friday Craig had to work so Chase and I did some shopping at an outdoor mall by us and we also rode the train that was all decorated for Christmas - Chase loved it!

Saturday we decorated for Christmas and I am loving it - pics to come! Sunday we spent the day converting Chase's room into a "big boy" room and moving his nursery furniture to the playroom for the baby. It was a long and tiring day but we got a lot done and Chase is now in a big boy bed - more to come as well!

Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! I look forward to another year of wonderful people and memories to be thankful for!

P-Jam Delivery

Chase got a special delivery in the mail the other day from Grandma and Papa T - Christmas PJ's! He was so excited to open the package and can't wait to wear his new PJ's! He modeled them for us in the kitchen before we went to go wash them...

Thanks Grandma & Papa! Love you :)

33 1/2 Weeks

I asked Craig to take a couple belly shots of me the other night at 33 1/2 weeks and Chase ended up coming over and giving us some pretty adorable impromtu pictures :) He is going to be such a good big brother! He prays for the baby every night before we eat dinner.. "Dear God - Take care of the baby and my friends - Amen"... straight from Chase's mouth every night - so cute! Sometimes he throws us and the rest of the family in there too :)

At 33 weeks I am definitely feeling the tiredness gain on me. I have been feeling really good the last few weeks but this last week in particular I have been really tired and my stomach has been sore making it pretty uncomfortable. It is definitely harder this time around because I am constantly playing with Chase or bending over to pick up toys, give baths, pick him up, etc. Craig tells me to take it easy but it's hard for me to do that - just not my personality!

My last Dr's appt went good - baby is measuring perfect and heart beat sounds good! Our date for the birth is all set - December 30th at 11:30am! It is so weird to have it all scheduled out this time - such a different experience. Let's just hope Baby H stays in there till then and doesn't do anything crazy on us!

Here's some pictures with my 2 babies....

Maui Vacation

We have been back from Hawaii for over a week and the 401 pictures loaded on my camera had me a little overwhelmed to do this post but I decided to go for it and get it documented! We spent an AMAZING week in Napili Bay, Maui with my parents & Christine, Jim & Ben. The location was gorgeous, we had great weather (hot with some rainy showers as well), and our accomodations couldn't have been more perfect for 2 toddlers.

I was worried about the long flight out there but Chase did great! On the way there we had a layover in San Fran. He was done during the last hour of our second flight into Maui and wanted to walk around but there were lots of kids on the flight doing the same thing so it wasn't a big deal. Here's some pics of our trip out there...

We made it!

Our room for the week... It was literally ON THE SAND and we were able to put the boys down for naps and still relax on the beach with our monitors. At night we could put the boys down and then hang out in my parents room. Who doesn't love sleeping to the sound of waves crashing and waking up to the ocean on your front balcony?!

Look at all the toys Grandma & Papa bought!

Beach Time

Chase & Ben loved teasing Papa with their snacks.. they would hold it out for him to eat and then eat it themselves before he could get to it!

First sunset... we walked to the hotel down the beach from us and got drinks as we watched the sunset. The boys had a blast playing in the grass throwing room keys and running from Papa's tickles:) They also loved watching the torches get lit by one of the locals all dressed in his Hawaiian gear.

Play Time at the Beach

Great seafood dinner at Kimo's in downtown Lahaina

Hula Pie Time! We got 3 desserts, 1 for each family, but ours was hijacked by a 2 year old with a sweet tooth :)

Walking to breakfast at The Gazebo to get some Macadamia Pancakes - to die for delicious! I was literally in pain taking my last few bites - ha ha!

More beach fun! The Dad's had fun building a golf course in the sand complete with water hazards and all - I think we were even playing when the little guys were sleeping - ha ha!

Monday night we headed to the Old Lahaina Luau! Mom & Dad stayed home to watch Ben and the 5 of us headed out for a night of Hawaiian fun. Before the show they had lots of demonstrations that you could walk around and watch (a guy opening coconuts, one guy making animals out of palm leaves, someone showing how to play the drums, etc...) We had great food and the show was fantastic - Chase was literally entranced the entire show with the drums and dancing - so cute!

Look how into the show Chase is! He was just staring the whole time - LOVED it :)

We all decided to try out the new craze in Hawaii - paddle boarding! We rented one for the day and took turns paddling out and getting up on the board. Even with my off-balanced belly I was able to stand up! It is fun and definitely a workout. Christine & Craig were definitely the super stars and looked like locals out there :)

Watching Daddy come in from paddle boarding...

More beach time fun... Dad was trying so hard to get Chase on the boogie board. He finally got him on it and Chase loved being pulled around and then jumping in the water to splash around :)

Sunset Happy Hour! Not quite as relaxing with 2 toddlers (crackers and cheese got sand kicked on them, wine got spilled, Christine got peed on) but beautiful nonetheless - ha ha :)

Wednesday afternoon we headed into the town of Lahaina to see the famous Banyan Tree and to do some shopping. Chase loved seeing all the boats in the harbor!

Wednesday night Craig and I got to go on a date night at a gorgeous restaurant called Merriman's just down the street from our condo. The view couldn't have been better and the seafood was delicious!

Thursday we headed out to explore the island a little bit. We had lunch at the golf course in Kapalua - what a gorgeous setting! The kids had fun rolling down the hill and playing on the golf carts.

Next, we took a drive to see some surfers, a blowhole and some fun pit stops along the way. It was fun to see the rockier part of the island and take in some beautiful views!

Check out this pineapple stand - you just leave your money in a box! Plus we got delicious banana bread and coconut candy from a little hut on the side of the road run by a couple and their 3 year old.

And more playing on the beach - can you tell that was out favorite?!...

Our bay was perfect for snorkeling because there were lots of beautiful fish, eels, sea urchins and TURTLES!!! There were big sea turtles that we could see from shore everyday by the rocks but seeing them in the water was a whole new experience! So amazing!

Baseball on the beach... Of course we had to pack Chase's bat and balls - we can't live without them! Chase was nice enough to share with us big kids too :)

Our final sunset - it was the best one we had all week!

We had the trip of a lifetime - thank you so much Mom and Dad for brinGing us all together to your favorite vacation spot! We have so many memories to cherish forever- XOXO!
