Cookies with Santa

One of my neighbors invited us 4 years ago to a party at her house called Cookies with Santa and it has been an annual tradition ever since.  Her family has been doing this for years and years and it is so fun to be included with all of them.  So basically here is what happens....we drop off gifts for the kids sometime during the week leading up to the party.  Then we all come to her house and bring a small plate of cookies and her entire dining room table is covered in different sweets.  The kids play and then Santa arrives (her Dad) and he sits and pulls presents out of his big Santa bags one by one.  He calls the kiddos name and they come up and sit with him and talk and then take their present back to their seat to open it.  It is seriously so cute and our kids love going every year!  Hadley is not loving Santa this year and of course she went first, lol!  It started everything off with a laugh for everyone, that's for sure!

Santa arriving and the kids getting settled...

Poor Hads is literally terrified!  Craig said she grabbed him with a death grip as he walked her towards the jolly old man.  The funniest part though was as soon as Santa held out her present, she let go of Craig and grabbed the present (screaming and all!)  She is a smart cookie :)

Chase is sooo into Santa and Christmas this year...I know we only have a few years left so I have really enjoyed watching the magic on his face this year.

This is what it looks like when your name hasn't been called during the first half of present giving - haa!  Sort of interesting to see because one year, Chase was literally dead last to go and he just sat there quietly crosslegged, looking over at me once in awhile with a worried look on his face like he hadn't been good that year or something.  Brady is a little more dramatic in his actions - just shows the differences in their personalities so perfectly...

Finally...

Looking at each other's Transformers

She screamed at him one more time as he walked past her to leave...

Then wondering where he went?!

These 2 were cracking up...this was one of Erin's nieces that I hadn't met before and the girls just kept hugging eachother!

Thankful for great neighbor friends who include us in their wonderful traditions!
