4th of July in Naz!

We spent 4th of July in Nazareth, Texas (population 311) to celebrate our Aunt & Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary!  We love getting a chance to go back to Craig's parents hometown usually once every summer.  The kids have a ball on the farms, riding tractors, riding golf carts and just running free and we love the family time and the peaceful feeling of a simpler life for a weekend.

All ready to go watch fireworks at our cousins house!

We set off our own fireworks at our cousins house the evening of July 3rd.  I was honestly so worried about this going in....I just pictured kids running around with fire, someone getting something blown off, etc BUT I was so pleasantly surprised and this night is one of my favorite memories to date.  We bought a ton of fireworks from one on our cousin's stands and once it got dark the whole party gathered on the open grass in chairs and on blankets to watch as we lit them off one at a time.  Brady and Chase put on 90% of the show and I have never seen Brady so excited about something.  They were so safe and in heaven!  Watching all these fireworks with nothing but farmland in the background was super peaceful and just seems very 4th of July - SUCH a great night!

PS - before the kids took over - we did have one cousin who launched bowling balls out of a cannon - that part was kind of crazy ;)

The best tradition ever!!!

Every wedding (and 50th) we all walk to the bottom of a hill and with drinks in hand (and jello shots this year) the bride and groom go up the hill in a wheelbarrow, on a float, in a golf cart, etc while everyone walks next to them and behind them and cheers them on.  There are always several trucks driving filled with people with their music blaring as well.  It is something you have to see with your own eyes and truly a one of a kind experience.  The whole group of hundreds of people walk to the hall and the party continues!
