1st Kinder Project

Chase's first major Kindergarten project was handed to us on his assessment day.  We had a couple of weeks to draw a life size version of Chase and decorate it in any way we wanted.  The instructions said "the more creative, the better" and this was supposed to be a family project!  Chase immediately said he wanted to be a baseball player!

So we traced his body and I bought some fabric that we cut into a uniform.  Craig showed me how to cut out stirrups to make it look more like an old school baseball player.  We painted the feet black to look like cleates, cut out the number 17 for Todd Helton and Chase dipped his hands in paint and pressed them down as handprints for the hands on our paper "Chase."

Lastly, we added a hat with the school initials on it and Craig had a last minute suggestion of adding black eye make-up.  I think the black eye makeup was the final perfect touch!  Chase was really proud to take his project to school and now it is hanging in the hallway at school along with all the other kindergarten cut outs of all the students!  Very cute :)
