Brady's 18 Month Check Up

Brady bear is 18 months - what?!  How did that happen!  Well he is a little man for sure and has grown into a loving, funny and active toddler right in front of our eyes.  Brady is such a happy toddler, and although he has a mind of his own, he will still give us a few snuggle moments throughout the day.

We had Brady's 18 month checkup this morning and here are his stats:

Height:   32 3/4 inches (50-75 percentile)
Weight:  25 lbs (25-50 percentile)
Head:    19 1/8 inches (50-75 percentile)

Of course last night Brady did a header off a chair onto our CONCRETE deck and got himself a HUGE knot on his head!  I felt so bad showing him to the Dr - lol.  I think we are in for a lot more accidents with this little guy because he does not possess the cautious gene that Chase was born with.  Boys!

Here is his knot - you have to look close because the glare is bad.  The scratch on his head was part of it but the bruise is above it and is a huge perfect circle... :(

Here are some things I want to remember about Brady at 18 months:

* Sleeping - This has been a nightmare lately!!  For the last couple of months Brady wakes up every night in the middle of the night screaming and will not calm down unless we get him and bring him into bed - such a bad habit!  Plus he rolls all over the place so no one is sleeping - lol.  He finally slept through the night while we were in San Diego - amazing!  Not sure what he loved so much about Christine & Jim's house but it was heaven.  The last few weeks it has gotten much better and he still cries at night but we just leave him in his room and it only lasts about 10-15 minutes and he goes back to sleep.  Hopefully we are almost in the clear :)

* Eating - Brady has always been our great eater but we are going through a bit of a "throwing" phase right now.  He sits at the table in a booster seat but eats off the tabletop.  He can use a fork really well and finally just figured out the spoon!  Some of his favorites are: chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, yogurt, cheese, strawberries, waffles, bananas, sausage, eggs, pizza, bagels and WATER - this kid loves water!

* Words - Brady talks so much better than I ever remember Chase doing and he says so many things that we already understand.  He says all of our names, "outside", "play", "no", "fish", "car", "bird", "milk", "water", "cup", "blankie", "night night", "bath", "crack (aka cracker)", "more", "please", "thank you", "book" and a lot more that I am forgetting.... My favorite is the way he says "Yes" - we need to get it on film.  He nods his head really hard and says "Ya" (as in Hi-Ya)...hilarious :)

We love our Brady bear and he is such a sweet brother... always sooo excited to see Chase and runs up to him and gives him hugs.  Happy 1 1/2 year birthday little man!
