Living For Little Moments

A few weeks ago my sister sent me an article titled "Mother Of Boys." It was such a great article and it was "25 Rules for Mothers of Sons." You can read it here if you want:

One "rule" that stood out to me was where it said,

"Go outside with him..."
turn off the television, unplug the video games, put your cellphone on the charger, even put your camera away. Just go outside and follow him around. Watch his face, explore his world, and let him ask questions. It's like magic.

Last Saturday night we got about an inch of snow and Chase wanted to go out back and play in it so bad. Craig said he would take him out for 10 minutes (because it was getting dark quickly) so they got all bundled up and were playing soccer and running around in the backyard. Suddenly this quote above popped in my head and I stopped in the middle of cooking dinner, bundled Brady and myself up and ran outside to be silly in the snow with all 4 of us. Something about the spontaneaity, crisp clean air, gorgeous snow and my kids laughter made it the most magical 30 minutes I have had in a long time. Brady was in heaven wandering around and discovering the snow. Chase was throwing snowballs like a maniac and he was dying laughing as Craig would tackle me and cover me in snow. We tried to take Craig down but somehow Chase and I kept ending up on our backs covered in snow - lol! I didn't follow the quote about no cameras but the rest was pretty amazing! We came back into the house in soaking wet clothes and all changed into our jammies and went back to making dinner and playing. What a perfect moment to set everything aside and just enjoy our family :)
