I'm Proud to be a CSU Ram!

Saturday afternoon the four of us plus Craig's parents headed up to Fort Collins to root on the Ram's basketball team against UNLV. CSU has been playing really good this season and this win would have pretty much insured an invitation to the "tournament"! Unfortunately we were defeated 68-61 :( I couldn't believe how amazing the crowd was - it was packed and the fans were going crazy.. so much better than when we were in school. (Although our football team was awesome while we were there so it evened out:) )

We had a lot of fun regardless and now we will just have to hope somehow CSU still gets invited to the tournament..we'll see. Both of the boys did great at the game. Chase sat either on Daddy's lap or by himself in the seat next to him and his favorite part was probably the big tub of popcorn Papa bought. I was laughing at one point because the entire crowd was standing and cheering and Chase was sitting in his chair with his head basically in the bucket getting the last few crumbs! Brady did amazing and was mellow or sleeping pretty much the whole time. The last few minutes got super loud so I took his out to the concession area so I wouldn't ruin his perfect little ears. There was a tv out there so I could watch - only problem was I realized between watching and hearing the crowd that there was about a 5 second delay. Oh well - at least I knew what was coming by the crowds reaction - ha ha!

It was a great time and fun to share it with our boys!

In Yogurt Heaven!

We had a very exciting discovery Saturday night! Here's the story...

Craig, his parents, Chase, Brady & I headed to Fort Collins for a basketball game Saturday night. After the game we went to a burger place to get some dinner and while we were there Chase went "poop on the potty" and he wanted a treat. We always give him dum dum's at home but I didn't have any sort of treat or candy on me. Craig went outside the burger place and walked along the strip mall to see if he could find somewhere to buy a piece of candy or a cookie or something. He walked back in a couple minutes later and said the most beautiful thing my ears have heard in awhile... "There a Golden Spoon a few doors down."

Hold on........WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I thought he was joking and felt like I was in a state of shock. To truly understand this feeling you have to be from Orange County or San Diego and have grown up going to Golden Spoon - the absolute BEST frozen yogurt in the world! I love frozen yogurt regardless but nothing is better than Golden Spoon. We were always so lucky because there is one jut a few minutes from my parents house in CA. We found one in San Diego but it was in Del Mar and quite a drive. Ever since we have moved to CO I have always told Craig I want to start one out here(joking but sort of serious - ha ha) because I knew people would love it. There are yogurt places popping up all over the place but they are all the pinkberry style tart yogurts (which I am not a big fan of) and they are the self serve kind where it is (in my opinion) crazy expensive and not always very good.

Just last week Craig & I had been in Fort Collins for another basketball game and we literally went to one of the self serve yogurt places after the game and were totally disappointed. Little did we know that this beauty was about 100 yards away....

Once Craig made the discovery we all headed down to have some dessert and I felt like it was Christmas morning - so excited! The best part was we asked them if they were the first one in CO and they said another one had just opened about 15 minutes from our house - woo hoo!!!

This could be dangerous :) Hey it's non-fat right?!

PS - Looking back Craig says he wishes he would have bought one and just walked into the burger place eating it - ha ha - I would have been so confused and bewildered!

Look what I can do!

A couple nights ago Craig was playing with Brady on his Baby Einstein mat and look what he started to do..... he is holding onto things!

It's funny how excited you get as a parent over this kind of stuff but it truly is amazing to watch these tiny babies develop and discover the world around them! You are getting so big Brady :)

Babies = Angels

Don't babies just look like pure angels when they sleep?

Change of Heart

Ok so I said yesterday that I am not a fan of Valentine's.... well I have decided to eat my own words because I just LOVED yesterday :) Valentine's is definitely a holiday that has been re-introduced to me as a Mom and I love it!

It was so much fun telling Chase the night before that the next day was Valentines and he was so excited! We started the day off getting Chase dressed in his new red Valentine's shirt and off to school he went. I got Brady ready in his cute Valentines outfit that was given to me as a gift and we headed to Chase's school for his party at 11am. The class sang songs, had snacks & cupcakes and then handed out their Valentine's in every kids special envelope they made! Chase was sooo excited to see Brady and was telling everyone it was his baby brother :)

Snack time with the class and Miss. Amy

Brady is quite the party animal :)

That night Craig & Chase got home and the true fun began! Chase & Brady each had a present from Grandma & Papa H, Chase had a gift from us, I got Craig a heart shaped box of snickers and he brought me home some flowers and wine! We decided no big gifts and this was absolutely perfect. Chase was sooo excited to open everything and then we went through his envelope from school and looked at all the Valentine's he got from his friends. Of course he ate about his body weight in candy during this process - but hey it's Valentine's:)

Showing me the candy heart he is eating :)

My favorite part was Chase kept saying "Happy Valentine's Mommy!" It was so cute and he would give me a hug after. I would say "Happy Valentine's to you Chase" and he said "Thank You Mommy." ADORABLE!

Me with my little Valentine's

Vino? Yes Please!

Chase insisted on taking a picture of Craig, Brady & I. He actually got us in it! (The first 5 attempts we were headless so we were laughing at this point)

After a delicious pasta dinner we made chocolate fondue for dessert! We had never done this with Chase so I was excited to see what he thought. Craig and I wanted to wait until later to eat ours so we made Chase his own little pot of chocolate to dip strawberries in. He loved it :)

Later that night Craig and I made a yummy chocolate fondue with almonds bits in it and dipped strawberries, pineapple and pretzels - yummy! Perfect ending to a perfect Valentine's!

OK Valentine's.. you win :)

Enjoying the Weather

After a few weeks of negative temperatures we were all very excited to feel the warmth of the sun this past weekend! We took advantage of it and Craig and Chase played some baseball on the front lawn while Brady and I cheered them on from the porch:)

After playing baseball Chase decided he wanted to ride his tractor to the mailbox. Craig & Chase came back and had a special Valentine package from Grandma & Papa T full of cards for us! Chase loved his musical card that sang "Who Let The Dogs Out!" He was dancing all over the place :)

Thanks Grandma & Papa for the fun surprise!

My Valentine Loves

My life is amazing because of these 3 boys. Plain & Simple.

It all started in January 2000 when I came back to college at Colorado State University after a month long winter break. I got back to the dorms and started wandering around looking for some of my friends to catch up with. I found my friend John and his new roommate (his best friend from high school who just transferred from Texas A & M and he said we were all going to love.) Boy did he have it right! I remember walking into their dorm room and my heart did a flip as I immediately had a crush on John's new roommate - Craig :) I remember Craig standing there in a yellow shirt from a cruise line that says "Ship Shape" - it is horrible but is his "comfy" shirt and he still owns it today. I would throw it out but the memories are too good - as long as he doesn't wear it in public I will leave it alone! Despite the shirt, it was right there...love at first sight. Seriously - it exists because I had fallen for this boy. We didn't start dating right away because I had a boyfriend at the time and Craig was just coming out of the corp at Texas A & M and wanted nothing else than to party and catch up on the college experience.

Fast forward to Spring Break 2001 in South Padre, TX. A big group of us went down for the week and had an amazing time and on that trip Craig and I knew we both were completely into each other. At this point we were both dating other people but we knew that had to change. As soon as we got back from our trip we each broke up with our boyfriends/girlfriends and went on our 1st date. We went to Young's chinese in Fort Collins and have been together ever since. Craig and I have had so many amazing adventures together so far:
* Sudying abroad in Australia
* Traveling through New Zealand for 2 weeks
* A trip to Mazatlan
* Long distance engagement (me in Florida, him in Colorado)
* Moving to San Diego together
* Honeymooning in the amazing Cook Islands
* Moving to LA together
* Cruise to the Caribbean
* And becoming parents to 2 amazing little boys

I cannot imagine a better person to spend my life with and am so thankful the stars aligned that put us in the same place to meet each other. I hope our boys turn out just like you baby.

Happy Valentines!

PS - I am not a very big Valentines person (I love chocolate but besides that I think it is pretty cheesy) BUT I must say I am so excited for Valentines now that I have the kiddos. Chase wore his new red shirt today and we had fun putting his Valentines cards together last night. His Valentines party is at school today and I can't wait to go and see him pass out Valentines, receive Valentines, eat candy and see the excitment they get out of this holiday!

Holy Weight Gain!

So when Chase was little, and I was on maternity leave, one of my favorite places to go to get out of the house was The Pump Station. This is a store located in Santa Monica that is a high end baby store specializing in all things breast feeding (get it - The Pump Station!) They had toys, clothes, diaper bags, etc as well but breast feeding was their focus and they also provided many classes to Mom's that needed help with breast feeding. I loved going there because it was fun to walk around the beach area, there was a great park nearby, I always found something to buy and my favorite thing was they had a baby scale! I loved putting Chase in the scale and guessing how much I thought he weighed. I know, exciting right?! Ha Ha! I thought it was :)

Now that we are in Colorado and Brady doesn't have another appointment until he is 2 months old, I have been dying to see how much he weighs now. Melissa came to my rescue when we were at their house Sat night and has a kitchen scale that she used to weigh her boys in when they were babies. She put a glass bowl with a towel in it on the scale and zeroed it out. We were ready for Brady...

His clothes are on but that doesn't weigh too much. We put him in and I about fell over when I saw the numbers......

OVER 11 LBS!!!

I don't really know if that is a lot but for some reason I had in my head like 9 lbs maybe.... so 11 lbs put me in shock for a second!!! Ha Ha - I knew he liked to eat this kid :) Can't wait till his 2 month appointment to see how big he is.

Like Daddy ... Like Son!

Where do you think Chase learned to drink the milk at the end of his cereal like this?! :)

Happy 1 Month Birthday Brady!

I can't believe that on Jan 30th Brady turned 1 month! Where did the month of January go?! It is crazy how fast time flies and I can't believe how much he has grown already.

To celebrate we did a little photo shoot at home. Doesn't he look thrilled :) That night Brady got to blow out a candle on his 1 month birthday cake from Grandma & Papa H ( he had a little help from Chase and his cousins!)

Frisbee's Visit Colorado!

Last weekend Christine, Jim & Ben came to visit us and to meet Brady for the first time! We were so excited to have them here and had a great weekend together!! Always wish that we lived closer to each other...

Christine cuddling her new nephew!

Ben getting a little jealous that Mommy is holding someone else - uh oh :)

Ben & Chase having fun at the park - it ended up being 70 degrees last Friday - AMAZING!

Playing with the "snow" we still have on the ground - ha ha. The boys had a blast making snowballs (well really ice at this point) and throwing them at Uncle Jim. Poor Christine's hands were frozen solid from making the boys "ice" balls!

More Brady cuddling...

Playing around wearing their Elmo backpacks together :)

We spent Sat morning playing at Monkey Bizness and then rode the train around the mall! The train was a big hit :)

"All Aboard"

That afternoon we went to the park by our house for a bit but then it got a little chilly!

The rest of the night we hung out at home, made Valentine cookies with the boys and just enjoyed getting to spend time together!

The Dad's stepped in to help Chase & Ben ice their cookies!

Adding the sprinkles

Finished Product!

Yummy

Brady enjoyed making cookies too - ha ha!

Sunday morning we tried to get some pics of all 3 boys. Not easy with a 2 year old, 1 year old and newborn - ha ha! Still pretty dang cute though.

The rest of Sunday we spent at the rec center. We made a quick stop at the indoor playground and then headed to the pool. Chase & Ben are both water babies so they had a blast!

One last attempt at a group picture before they had to leave... ummm nope not happening :)

So fun to have my best friend here for the weekend! Thanks for coming guys - we love you!
