1st Attempt at Moving Chase to His Crib - FAILED!

I had to share a story of our 1st attempt at moving Chase to his room to sleep in his own crib:

So Chase has still been sleeping in our room in his bassinet next to our bed. Although we laugh because he barely fits in it anymore Craig has been very patient with me as it has been tough for me to move him to his own room. There is something about being able to look over and see your baby breathing at all times that is very comforting:) Well we finally decided to try the crib last night - the plan did not go off as we had hoped!

Chase had a tough time going to sleep last night and after several failed attempts to lay him down, rocking, feeding,, etc we finally got him to sleep about 10:45. We went to bed ourselves about 11. Around 12:30 I could hear Chase crying through the monitor so I went in expecting to just give him his pacifier back. I walked in and he was wide awake and started screaming. I was shocked because this is a baby that has been sleeping through the night for about a month and if he ever does wake up he never cries - I didn't know what was going on! So I fed him again and got him back down. An hour later he was crying again so I went in and talked to him and got him to calm down. About 4am again we heard him again - Craig told me to just bring him in but I was determined so I fed him 1 more time and he went back to sleep. 5am AGAIN crying so I went in and FINALLY CAVED IN out of pure exhaustion and brought him to our room and put him in the bassinet. Of course he slept great till about 7:30!

Not sure what happened because he usually a) sleeps through the night, b) sleeps in his crib for naps, and c) sleeps in a crib all the time at my parents when we visit?! So - we will try again tonight but Round 1 goes to Chase!

Wish us luck - I go back to work tomorrow so I need some sleep:)

More Birthday Celebration!

This weekend we got together with Mom & Dad and Christine & Jim to celebrate Jim and my birthdays! Friday was Craig's last Friday off with his summer schedule so we started out the weekend with our favorite walk to our coffee shop down by the beach. Then we made our way down to Mom and Dad's to have dinner and spend time with everyone. Jim and I got to open some birthday presents - here is a pic of a present from Mom & Dad - the BOB stroller! Yea - now Chase and I can go on walks with a much smoother ride:)

Saturday morning the guys went to play golf and the girls + Chase (& Baby Frisbee:) ) got some exercise and walked around Santa Margarita lake. Chase slept the whole time - what an athlete!

Saturday night we rented a boat for a few hours and cruised around Balboa Harbor. We did this last year and it was a big hit so we asked Mom & Dad for a repeat this year:) We enjoyed cheese, crackers, fruit, & wine while looking at the homes, boats & we even caught a glimpse of a few weddings going on around the area. We got a great sunset too! Chase enjoyed his 1st boat ride!

Sunday we all went to Irwindale race track and the boys all did some Nascar racing around the track. They got to do 20 laps each!

3 Month Photo Shoot

We went to Babies R Us today to get a few professional pics taken of Chase for his 3 month birthday! Here are a few of the shots we got...

Chase is 3 Months Old!

Another month has come and gone and our little peanut just keeps getting bigger and cuter! Everyday we are amazed at how much he has changed in such a short amount of time. Chase - you have filled our lives with so much love and your little smile just melts every part of us! In just 3 months you are doing the following:
* Rolling from stomach to back
* Smiling like crazy!
* Constantly putting your hands in your mouth - and sucking your thumb (uh oh)
* Learned to hold toys and stuffed animals (and put them in your mouth!)
* Making all kinds of baby noises and having conversations with us
* Seeing yourself in mirrors
* Sleeping through the night!!
* Tiny giggles but not quite the big laugh yet
We look forward to all the exciting moments yet to come. We love you!!!

27 Years Young

So yesterday I turned 27 and I have decided to try and embrace it and look at it as still being pretty young:) I had a wonderful day starting with waking up in between the 2 most amazing men in the world! Chase gave me lots of cute smiles to start the day:)
Mom came up to take Chase & I to lunch and then we walked around the beach and pier for a little while - thanks for coming up Mom!

As soon as Craig got home we headed to an amazing park in Manhattan beach overlooking the ocean. We had a yummy picnic of salads & some white wine (Chase had the usual - breast milk:) ) and got a great sunset. We've decided picnics are definitely the way to go with Chase instead of restaurants. We are so bummed we didn't know about this park until now because it was just perfect but we will definitely be back!



When we got home I got to open some cards and gifts from my 2 boys and then Chase helped me blow out candles on the yummy cake Craig made himself (Funfetti of course). It was delicious!

Thanks Craig for making the day so special - this has been an amazing 26th year. It is crazy to think of everything that has happened in the past year including the most amazing gift of all - my precious son! I know number 27 will be filled with great memories & lots of fun, love and happiness!
Thank you to everyone for your calls, emails and cards - I felt very loved:)

Summer Fun!

We had a great weekend spending a lot of time outside with Chase taking advantage of the weather and enjoying some summer days.

Friday night we headed to Chase's first (of MANY I'm sure) baseball game! We went to see the Dodgers play the Brewers with a group from my work. It was good to see all of them since I am still off another 2 weeks and haven't seen them in almost 4 months! Chase did pretty good at the game. He was a little fussy and we figured out that the bursts of yelling were scaring him. We made it to about the 7th inning - pretty good for the little man! I had to include the first picture we tried to take because Chase's famous "lip" was too funny!

Saturday we spent the day out by the pool - the water at our place is kept too cold for Chase but he still looked cute in his swim trunks!

That night Craig planned a wine, cheese & cracker picnic down at the beach to celebrate my birthday! (It's Monday but hey you can celebrate more than 1 day!) We had a great time relaxing on the beach as a family.

Sunday we went to church then headed to the Santa Monica farmer's market. It was kind of crazy crowded so we didn't get any pictures. A little too crowded with the stroller but we have always wanted to check it out - glad we finally did:)

Toes in the Sand

So even though we live like 1/2 mile from the beach and we walk down there all the time with Chase we had yet to actually get him in the sand. Last night Uncle Brad was visiting for work so we made a trip down to the beach and got Chase in on the action. He seemed to really like it! Is this the start of a little surfer dude?:)

Our Little Miracle is 12 Weeks!

Chase officially turns 12 weeks today - wow where did the time go?! It is just amazing how much he has grown and changed in such a short amount of time. He is incredibly strong and holds his head up so well. He smiles like crazy and really watches you and interacts with you. We have just had so much fun so far and feel so blessed that this little boy has become part of our family! You are amazing Chase...
