Weekend Round-Up

We had a busy and fun weekend in our house!

Friday we hung out at home building towers, knocking them down, playing games and riding Daddy as a horsey - lol :)

Early Saturday morning we headed to Craig's work for the Ball Aerospace 30th anniversary Turkey Trot 5k!  We decided to go for it with the boys and I am so glad we did!!  This race raises money for employees that need help with medical bills and there were over 400 people who donated and about 200 who ran/walked!

Checking in...

Outside ready for the race to start - thank goodness for nice weather!

Hmmm...wonder where Brady learns everything from?! :)

Off we go!  I was SOOOO impressed with Chase!  He took off and was getting upset if anyone was passing us - lol!  He was kicking my butt, that's for sure.  He ran about the first mile and a half (that is a lot for little legs!) and then the second mile and a half we pulled out his razor scooter from under the stroller and he rode it next to us.  Everyone was jealous of his scooter - haha!

We finished!!  Afterwards Craig's work had juice, muffins, bagels and fruit to snack on.  Then the gave away raffle prizes and awarded the race winners turkeys!

After the race we headed home for a nap for Brady and relaxation time for the rest of us.  After Brady woke up we headed to the MBS Crossfit competition to watch Adam compete!!!  I didn't get any photos of him but I got one of the world's strongest toddler outside playing on some of the equipment...

After watching Adam we went to Craig's parents house to see some of his Aunt's and Uncle's who were in town from Texas.  They came in town for one of their granddaughters basketball games against Metro State.  We all headed to the game together and Chase got to hang out with all his cousins!  They had a ball playing in the stands, running under the bleachers and eating popcorn from the snack bar.

Sunday we had our neighbor, Zoey's 3rd birthday party and then we came home to decorate for Christmas!!  I didn't want to do it this early at first, but since we will be gone for Thanksgiving and every weekend in Dec is already slammed, this was really the only time to do it!  I will say the house feels amazing all decorated and festive - I love it!!!  We still have the outside lights to do and the ornaments to hang on the tree so we have a few things left to do after Thanksgiving.

More pics to come of our Christmas decorations!

We are off to Orange County tomorrow and can't wait!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Turkey Feast!

Chase & Brady's daycare had their annual Thanksgiving Feast last Friday for lunch.  Their school brought in Chick-Fil-A for all the kids and any parents that wanted to join as well.  I was so impressed with how well all the teachers decorated, they made the cutest little tables for the kids!

Craig wasn't able to make it so I split my time going back and forth between the boys classes.  I started in Brady's room and the little guys were so cute sitting at their turkey table all eating together.  Brady didn't eat much, I think maybe a roll, but he sat down well with everyone else.

They even all had cute nametags :)

He decided he didn't want to look at me, lol!

I headed over to Chase's room and all the older kids were having a dance party while their teachers finished getting their long table set up!

Everyone sitting together getting ready to eat...

Chase with his 2 favorite buddies, Carson & Sam!

I brought Brady into Chase's room after he was done eating so we could all be in the same room together.  Everyone had such a fun little feast and after about an hour I left so the boys could go down for a nap.  I took Brady back to his room and it was so cute watching him walk over to his mat, lay down and say "Night Night Mama", then he was asleep before I could even leave the room!

Lazy Weekend + Some Football

We had a pretty mild weekend in our house, which is very rare and can feel so nice sometimes!!  Friday night we just hung out at home, made dinner, played games and let the boys rule the household (what's new?!)

Saturday morning we played at home and got the boys all dressed in their Ram gear.  Sucks to be loyal when your team is terrible but hey, we are still loyal!

The boys decided they wanted to lay in our bed and watch a show together...this lasted about 5 minutes because Brady can't sit still but I caught it while I could :)

Saturday afternoon we dropped the boys off at Craig's parents and we headed up to Fort Collins for the football game.  The game started at 5pm and it was cold and snowy on our drive up.  We decided tailgating didn't sound all that thrilling since we didn't have a big group, so Craig and I met Katie at a bar in Old Town and we drank there (warm) until it was time to head to the game.

We were all dying laughing as we drove into the parking lot because literally in 13 years, none of us had EVER seen it that empty :(  So sad, but it was cold and they are pretty bad so what did we expect?  We were there to still cheer on the Rams though and we had a great time doing it!  Especially because they ended up WINNING!!!  Woo hoo!!

Our stadium always served beer while we were in college and still does but this was the first time we actually saw a concession guy walking up and down the aisles selling it - we were so excited!  I had to take a picture of Katie trying it out for the first time!

That night Craig & I headed back home but his parents decided to keep the boys so we got our first night of uninterrupted sleep in months - pure heaven!!  After Craig got the boys Sunday morning we had a lazy, snowy football day.

I went and played with Brady in the basement while Craig took Chase to get a haircut and I was dying because Brady kept getting on this toy and saying "Broken, it needs batteries"....which it did!  Poor kid has all toys that are broken - I think we need to invest in some new ones instead of all hand me downs :)  We finally got new batteries in it a little later and he was so excited!!

Say Cheese Brady!

Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend!

It's BAAAACK!!!

I'm not a big pumpkin spice latte or eggnog latte kind of gal, however, the
SOY GINGERBREAD LATTE
is a little piece of heaven on earth!  It always coincides with the introduction of the red holiday cup.  Such a perfect combination :)

Christine and I both have a love for this drink and we always text eachother when the first one is spotted.  Saturday morning my amazing hubby got up early with Brady and went to the grocery to get donuts for the boys.  He came into our room and put this cup on my nightstand because he wanted me to wake up to the smell of gingerbread latte.  I woke up when he walked in, kind of ruining his plan, but come on...how did I get this lucky?  Thanks babe for getting me my first one of the season.

Later that day Christine texted me the drink she picked up that same day in San Diego!  Yay!

One downfall - it's like $9 for the drink - lol.  Oh Starbucks...

Cousins

I am so thankful that Chase has so many cousins that truly are his best friends!  Carson came over to play for about 3 hours on Sunday and it was so funny listening to them play.  They did an awesome job with no fights - had such a blast together.

Chase loves hanging out with all his Colorado cousins and Ben in CA is one of his favorite people to talk about and look at pictures of!  Everyday he asks us how many days till our "trip" to CA for Thanksgiving so they can hang out!

Trick-or-Treat!!

This Halloween we decided to have a bunch of our neighbors over for a happy hour before trick-or-treating.  We had 5 other families over and we had a blast enjoying appetizers, drinks and the kids played in anticipation of thier sugar high!

I didn't get a picture of my entire spread because it got so busy but I got a couple...

Cheese pumpkin I made from scratch!

Funfetti cupcakes Chase helped me make, carrots and dip, homemade turkey triangles, pigs in a blanket, pumpkin seeds, snake pizza and a Halloween punch for adults and kiddos!

I didn't get a picture of my snake (boo!) but here is the picture of what I made online.  It turned out awesome, was so easy to make and my friends were raving about the taste (I didn't even get to try it!)  I will definitely be making this again!

Group photo as we headed out.  Brady was running around like a mad man and wanted nothing to do with the photo - lol!

This is the best he would give me :)

On a mission...

Mission Accomplished!

Craig took Brady home after about an hour and a half and then the rest of us made a pit stop at our friends, Tami & Calvin's, house.  We hung out there for a bit and then Chase & I went with the Smiths for about another 45 minutes of trick-or-treating. We definitely closed down the block and called it a night at 8:45 :)

Chase got home, took a shower and came down to watch tv with us....yup that's how a night of sugar and running on little legs ends :)

Goddard Halloween Bash

On Halloween from 4-5pm the boys daycare had a costume Halloween party!  The daycare has tried all kinds of formats thorughout the years (parades, activities in each room, etc) but this year they just had each class stay in their own room and do activities with their own class and teachers.

Having 2 kids and 2 classes, Craig and I kept switching off and hopping from class to class.  Poor Brady was so confused why we were switching - lol!  They had a great time though and their teachers did a great job making it a special time for all the kids!

Chase's class had bowling, Halloween house making (with graham crackers & frosting), Halloween memory, and oreos with orange milk.

Brady's class was so cute!  His teacher was dressed up as the fairy Godmother and she stayed up until 5:30 in the morning making activities for the kids.  They had candy corn throwing into pumpkin buckets (she hand sewed the candy corns!), sang itsy bitsy spider and put spiders on a homemade web, did a candy hunt outside using their candy bags the kids painted themselves that day and I think they did a few other things but we left a little early!
