Rockies Game
"I want Baseball Game!" - This is all we hear from Chase when he wakes up, during the day and right before bed! He loves to watch, play & read books about anything baseball - he is truly obsessed (wonder where he got that from?!)
We asked him if he wanted to go to a Rockies game and of course the answer was Yes. We went to the Rockies vs Dodgers game on Sat night and it was a great time. The weather was perfect and warm all night plus the Rockies won! Chase did good, although we spent a good majority of time at the playground :) We went over to meet Dinger but we caught him right as he was leaving the autograph area. He gave Chase a high 5 on the way out which freaked Chase out, so that was probably good enough. Chase still got a Dinger baseball card and coloring page so he was more than excited about that!
Here we are on our way into the game (Chase is very interested in his lollipop that a vendor we bought water from gave him!)

Family Water World Day!
Last weekend we got a chance to head to Water World with the whole family! We had a blast and all the kids were great and loved the water slides. We went on some family rides then spent most of our time in the kiddie area. Chase's favorite ride was a kids water slide where you ride in a double tube - him in front, me in back! He was so serious and holding the handles and just loved it!
I kept my camera locked up most of the day but brought it out to get a picture of all the cousins! Turned out pretty cute:)
After Water World we went back to Grandma & Papa's house to eat dinner and celebrate all the August's birthdays. While we were there Marae was playing school with the 3 little guys and it was the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. She was the teacher and was teaching them to count and ABC's, they had recess and colored - ha ha! Here they are singing their ABC's!

20 Weeks Down...
So Christine gave me a hard time the other day for not doing any baby updating on the blog, and I agree, yikes I am already doing a worse job documenting Baby #2's life! I will try to be better. My Mom had 2 baby books for Christine and only about 10 pages of the first book done for me - ha ha - isn't that the truth though.. it happens to everyone.
So I am officially HALFWAY through my pregnancy and it has actually started to go pretty fast. I'm not a huge fan of the beginning of pregnancy because you feel terrible (at least this time around I did) and you can't really tell anyone you're pregnant. Then you just start to feel fat and don't look pregnant yet.. it's a lot of fun:) Then, right around this time - BAM - you all of a sudden pop out and look pregnant, you start to feel the baby move and it is awesome the remaining 20 weeks. This is what I am hoping anyway. I loved the last few months of my pregnancy with Chase so I'm hoping for the same experience:)
This pregnancy definitely started out much differently than Chase. I felt great the whole time with Chase but this time I was so nauseaous when I would wake up and when I would go to bed for the first few months. That has finally gone away and now I am just tired - but I don't think that is going to change since I have a 2 year old in my life!
I started feeling flutters 2 weeks ago and then last week all of a sudden I started feeling pretty big movements from the baby - so cool! I wasn't expecting it this soon so that has been so amazing - I can even see my stomach moving at certain times!
My BIG ultrasound is tomorrow and we could find out the sex but we have decided to still not find out! Aaahhh - I am excited but it is definitely going to be hard. I think it will be even harder knowing the Dr knows on the piece of paper right in front of them :) I think this will be a fun experience though! I really have no idea what my guess is. In the beginning I really thought it was a girl since I felt so different but lately my gut has been saying boy - so who knows?!
Any guesses?

29th Birthday!
I had an amazing 29th birthday! We didn't really do anything too big but it was just one of those perfect days. I was able to meet up for lunch with my friend, Bethy, who I haven't seen forever and it was an absolute blast! She is such a doll and it was so fun to get to spend time with her! After work Craig, Chase and I just had a family night at home. It was crazy hot today so the evening was perfect to spend outdoors. We played outside and I had a Coors Non-Alcoholic to celebrate :) Craig made us a yummy BBQ chicken pizza for dinner, I got to open gifts and we had a delicious Baskin Robbins ice cream cake for dessert (my one request!) Chase sang to me and I just felt so loved by my boys and by all my friends and family. Thanks everyone for making the day so special - I am a very blessed and lucky girl!
Last year of my 20's - yikes - I am not ready to be 30 so I better savor everyday of this year:)
Chase helping me open some gifts...
My beautiful card Chase colored for me!
Of course in my package from Mom and Dad Chase got a gift too! Here he is checking out how he's musical card works - he had fun dancing to it :)
My favorite part was when Chase sang me "Happy Birthday".. I have a video of it but it keeps failing when I try to upload it here... I'll keep trying - it is to die for!

Glimpse into the Future??
A few weekends ago we had our friends, Brett and Mary and their 2 kiddos over for dinner. Their youngest, Abby, was born the end of May and Chase just loves her and is so excited whenever he gets to be around the "baby." He wants to hug and kiss her and hold her - it is super cute! Hopefully this is exactly how life will be with our new baby :)
At one point in the night Chase disappeared inside for a bit and was very quiet - which is always dangerous for a 2 year old! We went inside to find him like this...

Chase thought it was hilarious to keep sitting in Abby's car seat - hmmm I have a feeling he might be reverting back to a few baby toys come January...

We Have a Biter....
Life isn't always perfect... sometimes we have to talk about the tough times...
Within the last couple months Chase has gotten bitten a couple times at school and then all of a sudden it made him turn into a biter himself! No!!! I was always so glad he wasn't a biter so it has been so tough to deal with the last couple weeks of him biting the other kids at school. I have decided that this is one of the toughest things your toddler can do as a parent!!(I'm sure I'll say this about our next obstacle as well - ha ha) I know I am lucky that that is the toughest thing in our life right now - trust me I realize how blessed this makes us - but still having a child that bites is sooo frustrating. As a parent it is embarrassing and you feel like you are being a bad parent. It brought me to tears many times just because of pure frustration of not knowing what to do.
The most frustrating part is he NEVER bites at home so we never see it, therefore we never discipline it. When we would pick Chase up at school we would get "incident reports" which are write-ups of any biting/hitting/falling - one for each incident throughout the day. We got to a point where we were getting at least 1 report everyday - some days even getting 2 of them. I just kept saying "I don't know what to do because he doesn't do it at home!" We just kept hoping he would stop...
Finally last week D Day came and I got the dreaded phone call that Chase had bit 4 times that day and he had to go home for the rest of the day. Craig and I don't really agree with this since it probably seemed like a reward for him to get to go home and be with Mommy all day - but that is the rule so I went to pick him up. Chase felt so bad when I got there and knew exactly why I was there.. he said " I bite Cooper." Poor guy - he is such a love bug and so remorseful - which I love about him - he just was expressing frustration/anger/tiredness through biting.
His 4 write ups...

We ended up setting up a parent/teacher conference for the next day and we had a great meeting with his teacher and one of the directors of the school. They were so supportive and told us all the reasons they thought it was happening and kept reminding us that it is completely normal and developmental and not our fault. We also came up with some great ideas to help the issue. Here are some of the things we put in place:
1) We bought the book "Teeth Are Not For Biting" and we read it constantly to Chase, having lots of conversations with him about how it hurts his friends and we hug instead
2) Every night before bed we tell him we are proud of him for not biting and "Biting Hurts!"
3) Every morning we tell him "Biting Hurts" and he should hug his friends instead.. we say "Chase what are you going to do with your friends today" and he answers "Give em Hug," "Hug Cooper," etc (can you tell Cooper is his best friend!)
4) We bought a Thomas the Train electric toothbrush and a teether that he gets to keep in his cubby at school and can use whenever he wants to have something in his mouth
5) We bring his dinosaur to school now that he sleeps with at night and it is a special treat that he gets at naptime if he doesn't bite anyone in the morning
6) He gets 2 jelly beans when he gets home from school if he doesn't bite all day (we put them in a special baggy in the morning before he goes to school and show them to him and tell him he gets them if he doesn't bite)
I am proud to announce that it is WORKING!! It is getting so much better! We put all this into place last Thursday and Thursday he had one bite, Friday nothing, Monday one bite, today nothing. Slowly but surely he is doing so good! He totally understands what we are saying and is soooo proud of himself when he has good days!
I feel like we are overcoming our first parenting obstacle! One of the things I have loved seeing through this experience is how smart Chase is and how much he really does understand everything we are saying. He really wants to do well and it has been amazing to watch how proud he is of himself and how he really can change his behaviors if he wants to. He is becoming such a big boy and communicates so well. He is talking so great lately and I think this will also help with any biting issues...he will feel more understood without getting frustrated.
Love you monkey - so proud of you!
