I Found My Feet!

Chase has given his hands a tiny bit of a rest since he has found his feet and now spends his playtime trying to get them to his mouth:) Here is a picture of his new favorite toy!

Chase helped me do a little baking this weekend. I decided to make home-made cinnamon rolls - yum! Chase sat in his Bumbo but he wasn't much help once he realized his bottles were all drying next to him:) He spent more time trying to grab them than anything else.

Here is my final masterpiece - they are delicious!

CSU played Cal this weekend - and although we got our butts kicked - Chase still wore his green and showed some support. Oh well - at least we looked cute while losing:)

Well - looks like the Rockies aren't going to make the run they did last year so since it was their last game Sunday - Chase had to show his support for Daddy's favorite team.

We are getting a....NEPHEW!!!!

Today was the BIG ultrasound for Christine and Jim! They got to see their precious little one again and see that everything is growing perfectly. Most importantly the baby is healthy and looking good but of course the big question we were all waiting to get answered..Boy or Girl? IT IS A BOY!!! They are so happy and we are so thrilled for them and also for Chase - he will get his own little buddy to grow up with. Wow - I can just picture how much fun (and how much trouble) they will have and get in together:)

Craig amazed us once again with ALWAYS being right on the sex. I had a feeling it was a girl but from now on I will listen to Craig's instincts. He has gotten all our nieces and nephews right along with guessing Chase and baby Frisbee right. Who needs an ultrasound? Ha Ha

Congrats Christine & Jim - we can't wait to meet our little Nephew!!

Happy 4 Months Chase!

Once again another month has come and gone and, like all parents, Craig and I are amazed every single day at how big he has gotten so quickly! Chase - you have been an angel that has come into our lives and you make every day better by being in it. You melt our hearts with your smiles, cute noises, funny faces and our favorite - burying your head in our neck when you're tired:) We love you peanut!

Here is a 4 month picture of Chase with the teddy bear his Grandpa Thuerbach got him in the hospital.

Here's a flashback at Chase with the same bear at 3 weeks old...

We had a fun weekend going to visit Aunt Christine & Uncle Jim in San Diego. Friday night we met for dinner at Karl Strauss in La Jolla then just headed home to hang out. Saturday we watched some football - Chase cheered on the Rams in his CSU gear:) It worked - we won!

Here's Chase & Matt watching some football. Chase is going through a stage where he is crying around men (besides Craig) and Matt is the first one Chase has taken too. Look at that smile:)

That night we got to meet up with some friends in Carlsbad for dinner at Pizza Port. We had a great time seeing them and getting a chance to catch up - unfortunately we didn't get any pictures but it was a good time.
Sunday Lisa & Brady were so generous and offered to have us all over for brunch at their house. We had delicious food and watched some football and enjoyed the sun before we had to start the trip home.
Chase & I hanging out at Lisa & Brady's - what a happy boy!

Marcos & Emery, Craig & Chase and Uncle Jim watching about 9 different games at the same time!

It was so great to see everyone this weekend - we miss you guys! Can't wait to see you all again soon.

We'll miss our Abbers

This past week and weekend have been very sad for our family because we found out on Tuesday that we are losing our wonderful family dog, Abbie. After 11 years of being the most gentle, loving and sweet companion we have to say goodbye. Abbie has a liver disease that is making her liver so enlarged that it is pushing against her stomach and she cannot eat. There is nothing we can do to help her except give her lots of love like she has given us for so many years. We will miss her swimming everyday, running circles around the living room when she got excited, being scared of dogs smaller than her, and getting so excited for almonds:) I truly wish she would be around when Chase gets a little older because I know she would have been the best dog around kids. Unfortunately life isn't always fair. Abbie has been a great dog and made us so happy throughout the years.

Craig, Chase, Christine, Jim and I all headed to Mom and Dad's this weekend to spend some time together and get to spend a little more time with Abbers. Here are a few pictures of Chase with Abbie - talk about a tough picture to get - babies and pets:) We will tell Chase all about her when he gets older.

Back To Work

Well the dreaded day came when my maternity leave was up and I had to go back to work. I started the Thursday before Labor Day so have been back about 6 days. The actual work part has not been too bad, it is leaving Chase that is the heart wrencher. I think before going back we had only been apart for like 4 hours at a stretch. Our original plan was to put Chase in a daycare close to my work but as the day approached we decided he was just too little for the daycare. The kids all pick on eachother so we want him to at least be big enough to defend himself:) So - my Mom gave us the biggest gift ever and for the next 3 months she has offered to come up and watch Chase Mondays & Tuesdays. She is willing to make the drive plus sleep on a blow-up mattress on the floor all for the love of Chase:) For the other 3 days we got a nanny, Molly, who seems to be doing wonderful so far. We know Chase is in the best hands outside our own. I have surrounded myself with pictures of him everywhere at my desk:)

Since I now savor every moment with him even more here are some random bits of cuteness we have taken over the past few weeks!

The smiles never get old:)

Just out of the bath..our little Rocky

Chase's name is up! Thanks for the cute letters Aunt Jill and thanks for painting them Grandpa!

Little CSU Ram!

Sunday night was the annual rivalry game of Colorado State vs University of Colorado. We got to introduce Chase to his first taste of CSU and football season! He was such a trooper as Craig and I took him to an LA alumni gathering at a restaurant in Redondo Beach. There were about 100 CSU fans gathered at the restaurant - all cheering our hearts out. Too bad it wasn't enough and CU came away this year's winner but we still had a great time.
Chase was a big hit with CSU fans wearing his green and gold:) He did a good job and watched the whole game with us (poor guy only slept for about 10 minutes!) We will also always remember this day because Chase gave us his first giggle! It was so cute- we're waiting to hear it more! Here are a few cute pics from Chase's 1st game...

Wearing Daddy's famous shirt that has been retired due to numerous rips and holes:) Chase & Daddy SO EXCITED!! Chase in his gear at the game Forgot to get a family pic at the restaurant so we attempted with a timer after we got home:) Chase giving us a little breakdown of the game last night:)

Crib Update!

So after a few more nights attempt - Chase is now sleeping well in his crib! Yea:) We still have to get up a few times at night to locate the lost pacifier but as soon as it is returned safely to Chase's mouth he goes right back to sleep! We think his room might have been too cold those first few nights so now we have his vent closed, humidifier on, and he has a lamb that plays sleep sounds (thanks Nick) so he listens to rain as he drifts off to ZZZ land:)
