Sweet sleeping baby!

Chase gave us an amazing gift last night - 9 solid hours of sleep!!! We put Chase down at 9pm and although he usually gets up about 4am to eat - he slept all the way until 6am!! We went to bed at 11 and I couldn't believe it when I woke up at 4am (my body is used to it now!) and he was still sound asleep. I started feeling sick last night (sinus head cold) so our sweet baby must have known that Momma needed some good sleep to try and get better:) Even better when he woke at 6am he just layed in his bassinett full of smiles for Craig and I. Usually he is pretty demanding for food right away but this morning he was calm and we got a great happy morning with our little guy. I won't get used to it but will enjoy it for what it was:)

We head out to Texas tomorrow morning for a Hoelting family reunion! We can't wait for Chase to meet some more family - especially his Great Grandma! We have to leave for the airport at 4:30am tomorrow and get to Texas about noon so hopefully Chase will be a good traveler through the long day like he was to CO. Wish us luck! I will post lots of reunion pictures when we get back!

Playing with Mommy & Daddy

We had a great 3 day family weekend. Craig had Friday off and this was the first weekend we have been home in about a month so we got to spend some good quality time together! Friday we rented a van and FINALLY got rid of the extra mattress we had for visitors that was taking up Chase's entire closet. Craig drove it down to Mom & Dad's, who are being generous and letting us keep the bed at their place. Then we took Chase on his first trip to Home Depot to do some little projects around the house.
Saturday Chase got another new first - Costco! We love that place and of course always spend way too much money - we always find exciting stuff we just have to have right?:) Then we spent some time out by our pool and then headed to Manhattan beach to walk around and have dinner.
Sunday we went for a really long walk all around the Marina and down by the ocean. The path went much farther than we thought but oh well at least we got a heck of a work out. Then Mom & Dad came up to visit for a few hours to get some more Chase time - we would only be kidding ourselves if we thought it was to see us:) JK
Here are a couple cute pictures from the weekend....

Active Boy

Here is another video of Chase playing on our bed. He was talking and kicking a lot and I, of course, thought it was super cute! He has some great smiles these days but of course whenever the camera comes out the smiles are hard to catch. I'll get it on film one day:)

Bathtub Fun

Chase is liking his baths more and more these days - especially now that we can give him full baths instead of those spongebaths. He seems happy while in the water and he likes being all wrapped up in his towel afterwards! Here are some cute pictures of Chase's bathtime!

Here is a random cute picture of my boys from last night:)

Welcome Emery Ann Gonzales!

Congratulations to our friends Marcos & Tracy on the arrival of their sweet baby girl - Emery Ann Gonzales! Emery was supposed to be born on my birthday (August 18th) but she was ready to come out and meet her Mom & Dad so she made her appearance exactly 1 month early - July 18th. She weighed in at 5 lbs 12 oz.

Congrats Marcos & Tracy! We can't wait to meet your little girl and give her some love. Chase is very excited about his new little buddy as well:)

(Sorry the pictures are a little fuzzy. Christine sent them to me from when her and Jim went to visit in the hospital and they are taken behind a window of glass)

Happy 2 Month Birthday Chase!

Chase is 2 months today! Where has the time gone?! We went in today for his 2 month check-up and first round of vaccines. There was a little 1 week old baby in the waiting room and I felt like that was us just yesterday at his first appt. It has been so fun to watch him grow these last few months though and he is starting to become such a fun little person more and more everyday.

His appt went good and he is still a perfect little baby. He is now 11 lbs 4 oz and 23 inches so becoming a bigger boy! He got 2 shots today and it was tough to hear him cry but I think after the traumatizing circumcision procedure we have already been through - this was nothing:) He is doing just fine now.

Happy 2 month Birthday Chase - you are soooo loved!

Weekend Fun!

We had a fun family weekend! Friday night we had a "family date night." Craig, Chase and I walked down to an Italian restaurant near us, had dinner and some wine and had a nice walk back home. Chase did great and slept in the stroller next to our table the whole time:) Saturday we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Thuerbach's house to hang out with them and Christine & Jim. We had fun hanging out in the pool and enjoying the weather. Chase had a rough day and was crying a lot but he payed us back when he gave us 8 hours of sleeping that night! Can you believe it? He definitely wore himself out during the day - poor little guy. Sunday Grandma and Grandpa gave us a treat and watched Chase so Craig, Christine, Jim and I could go to the Angels vs Red Sox game. We had a great time, especially since it was a SWEEP for the Angels!!! (Sorry Jim)

Seeds anyone?!

Chase is pretty relaxed on Grandma's shoulder:) Here is a video of Grandpa getting Chase to give some smiles!

Chase's 1st Lunchdate

Chase & I went and had a lunch date with 2 of the girls Craig & I met during one of our childbirth prep classes. Jenny, Heather & I had a great time getting out of the house and getting a chance to get advice from eachother and share stories. Chase had fun with his 2 new little buddies - Luke who is 10 weeks and Campbell who is 13 weeks. We can't wait to do it again!

Weekend Trip to Colorado!

We had a wonderful weekend in Colorado - it was action packed and went by way too fast but we enjoyed every minute of it. Chase did an amazing job on his first flight. He cried for only about 5 minutes on the way there and was completely passed out the rest of the time and slept through the whole flight home - what a good little traveler! We got in Thursday night and went back to Jill & Don's house to wait for Brad, Melissa & the boys to finish their drive in from Minnesota. They arrived and we all stayed up late chatting and the boys even longer having some drinks together.

Friday we made our way over to Craig's parents to surprise them with us being there! We set it all up by sending in all the kids with Jill, Don, Melissa & Brad. Melissa was carrying Chase acting as if it was her own baby, Carson who is almost 6 months sold. Since Marvin & Carol haven't seen Carson since he was 2 weeks old - we weren't sure if they would even notice! Well, it worked and they held Chase and were saying "Hi Carson!" Carol did mention that she thought he would be a little bigger! Finally Craig & I walked up holding the real Crason and said that's not Carson, its's Chase! (We didn't get any pictures but do have the whole thing on video!) Their reaction was priceless and they were so shocked that we were all in town. Finally all the siblings were together for the first time since last September. We spent the rest of the day hanging out and then headed to the Hoffman family reunion BBQ that night.

Craig enjoying some Rocky Mountain Oysters ( aka fried cow balls - yes seriously! ) that Marvin cooked up!

Saturday we celebrated all the July & August birthdays( Austin, Andrew, Jill, Don, Melissa & I )

That night we headed back to another dinner and dance for the Hoffman reunion. Chase won a stuffed animal prize for being the youngest person at the family reunion! Craig & I left and came home and some friends came over to hang out till about 2am - it was so fun to catch up!

We got a chance to take some great family photos this weekend as well!

Sunday we headed to Adam's house for a BBQ to get a chance to see all our friends. It was beautiful out and all the kids (and some big kids!) enjoyed the Slip n Slide. We had so much fun seeing everyone!

The 2 new Daddy's! Steve & Craig with Chase & Brooklyn

Cutie Landon giving Chase a kiss!

Next we headed to Roger & Shirley's house for the pig roast they were throwing for Marvin & Carol's surprise 60th birthday party! It was an amazing party with tons of friends and family and Carol & Marvin were definitely very surprised. Now they know the real reason we went out there! We enjoyed the party into the night then went home to relax.

The 3 cousins so close in age. Ashlyn - 9 months, Carson - almost 6 months & Chase - 7 weeks. They will have so much fun growing up together!

Sunday we slept in a bit then had some breakfast then said goodbye to everyone. The weekend flew by but was full of fun times and good memories!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! It is such a fun summer holiday and Chase definitely enjoyed celebrating his first 4th.
We went down to Mom & Dad's on Thursday and that night Christine & Jim joined us along with Aunt Kathy, Uncle Jon, Lindsay & Brad from AZ. We were jamming late into the night on Rock Band - it was hilarious! I think Jim missed his calling as the lead singer for Nirvana!

For the 4th we hung out around the pool all day enjoying the sun and participating in some competitive pool volleyball games and a very intense blongo ball tournament :)(Aunt Kathy & Brad went undefeated) That night we BBQ'd and were able to see about 30 different fireworks shows from Mom & Dad's backyard!

Saturday we had a big 5th of July party! We had lots of old and new friends & family over to enjoy the pool, sun, games and just visiting. Chase got a chance to get lots of attention and meet lots of new faces.

Sunday we were a bit tired from the weekend but managed to get in a few more hours in the pool. We took Chase in for his first swim as well! He wasn't too excited about it - I think he might have been hungry - so we will have to try again another time. Don't worry the hot tub was not on - in case anyone looks at this and thinks we took a baby into burning hot water:)

What a fun weekend - it was great to see everyone!

I think we wore Chase out!
