Chase's Modeling Shoot

I went and got Chase's 1 month pictures done at Babies R Us yesterday and I was just dying with how absolutely adorable he looked posing! He did a great job as our little baseball player. He is definitely a little ham - guess it's because he was born in LA:)

HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY CHASE!

We cannot believe it but Chase turned 1 month old already on Saturday - where did the time go?! It has been amazing to watch him change and grow every single day. He is so bright eyed and alert, holds his head up and really focuses on you when you hold him! He is just the sweetest baby and we are so lucky and blessed. We celebrated Chase's birthday with some funfetti cupcakes - well we had cupcakes and he got some breast milk:)

We went for Chase's 1 month Dr's appt and he is now 9 lbs exactly (up from 7 lbs 11oz at birth) and 22 inches long (up from 20 1/2 at birth).

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Hoelting!

We had a wonderful weekend with Craig's parents visiting. They were supposed to come out Memorial weekend to meet Chase but since he was a little late they changed their trip to this past weekend. This was their first chance to see Chase in person (besides the webcam:) ) We spent our time on lots of walks and just enjoying each other and Chase. Grandma and Grandpa must have brought us some good luck in the sleeping dept because Chase slept every night until 3am and only woke up 1 time each night!! Or maybe we just tired him out with all the walks - who knows - but it was a treat. Thanks for coming out to visit us - can't wait to see you again in August! Here are some pictures from our weekend and a link to a little video montage as well!

Getting in some snuggle time with Chase

Friday we went to the Santa Monica pier and enjoyed the gorgeous weather

Craig trying to win Chase a teddy bear at the basketball game on the pier

He made it! Here is Chase with his prize!

Lunch at The Lobster after walking around the pier

Chase and Grandpa having a little heart to heart

Grandma's turn

Finally a picture of the 3 of us together:) We have been getting mostly pictures of just one of us and Chase so this was a nice change. This was during a walk one night - Chase just loves being outside and about town.

Enjoying a wine and cheese picnic in our courtyard

Chase really enjoyed the picnic as well :)

Aunt Jill sent us a TON of Kyler's baby clothes (thank you so much by the way!) and in the box was also some of Craig's old baby clothes that he wore. This was a yellow outfit of Craig's that he took his 6 week old picture in. It will be fun to put the 2pictures next to each other.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great weekend at my parents house with Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Christine & Uncle Jim for Father's Day weekend! The guys had some fun on the golf course Sat morning and we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the HOT weather out by the pool. Too bad I still can't get in the water because of my incision but hopefully by 4th of July Chase and I can take our first mini dip in the pool together!

Jessica & Tiffany came by to meet Chase - he loved his beautiful new Aunties!
We wish a very special Father's Day to both our Dad's. We are so lucky and blessed to have such amazing parents and truly the best Dad's in the world. Thank you for all the love and support you have given us through the years and continue to give us everyday. You have both given us such a strong base to build our own family upon. Chase is such a lucky little guy to get 2 amazing Grandpa's! ( We will get lots of pictures with you and Chase this weekend Marvin, we can't wait for you guys to visit!)
HAPPY 1ST FATHER'S DAY CRAIG!! Chase has no idea how lucky he is to have you as a Dad, although it is very obvious how much he already adores you. You have amazed me from day 1 in the hospital at how great of a Dad you already are. It was such a natural instinct for you to know exactly how to take care of our son. You give so much love and are so caring towards our little man - it just melts my heart! I love seeing the 2 of you together and truly know that I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such wonderful men in my life. I cannot wait to see our little man grow and become just like you. Thank you for being an amazing husband and Daddy. I look forward to many more Father's Days with you and our family! We love you Daddy!

Picnic at the beach

Chase and I went and met Daddy for lunch on Thursday. First we went to Craig's work so his coworkers could meet Chase. Chase was a good boy and was awake and alert while meeting all of them! Next we headed to Santa Monica beach and found a sunny spot on the grass to have some sandwiches and enjoy some time with our sweet baby! It was beautiful out and we had a great time. Chase loved being outside in the fresh air as well! We will have to do this often during this summer.

Dad's New Hairdo

Well Dad finally took the plunge and got some hair implants. While he was at it he decided to go for the California bleach blonde look!

JK of course - it is just a visor with hair coming out the top. How funny is this - it actually looks surprising real:)

Weekend Update

We had a great weekend with Chase since Craig got Friday off! He has every other Friday off for the whole summer.

Sunday Chase got a chance to hang out with Debbie & Bruce! Thanks for coming to visit guys we had a great time:)

We went for lots of walks this weekend (that's about all a 2 1/2 week old can do :) ). Here is a close-up of a rare shot of Chase awake in the stroller - usually he konks out the minute we get in the fresh air!
A pretty spot for some pictures during one of the walks. I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of pictures of me & Chase and then Craig & Chase - where is a 4th person when you need them to take your picture?!

Chase has this amazing timing every night of sleeping until about 1 minute before Craig and I are about to eat dinner. Last night he did this again but we put him in his swing to see if he would last 10 minutes so we could eat a quick meal - guess he liked it - he fell alseep in about 30 seconds and we ended up having to wake him up! Too funny - sweet little sleeping baby!

Lovin' My Teddy

We took this picture over the weekend and I just thought it was too cute. Here is Chase hanging out with his BIG teddy that Grandpa bought him in the hospital! He looks so little with it - it is hard to imagine that one day Chase will actually be bigger than the bear. Not yet though we aren't ready for him to grow that fast:)

Heart Murmur Update

We had a follow up appt with the pediatric cardiologist this morning for Chase's heart murmur. He basically told us that it is not a big deal and is pretty common and the hole is in the best place it could be - not near a valve or anything. He listened to his heart and can still hear it but said it will probably close up in the next few months. He said even if it doesn't close up it will never affect him. He told Craig that Chase will be ok to play sports:)

Now we just wait until one of our pediatrician appts the next few months when she doesn't hear it anymore and then go in to the cardiologist for a final echo to show that it is gone.

Definitely relieved that everything is ok with little Chase's heart!

2 Weeks Old

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since Chase was born. It feels like time has flown but at the same time being in the hospital having him feels like forever ago! We are all doing great - Chase gets more and more alert everyday and looks around with his big bright eyes. He is just adorable and continues to make us laugh with all his funny faces. We had to say goodbye to Grandma today after 2 weeks of help from her. It was hard and I of course cried and Chase probably would have too if he knew what was going on :) Thank you Mom for all your help with everything - we couldn't have done it without you! You are a wonderful Grandma. and Mom.

Beautiful Weekend

We had a great weekend with Chase getting out in the fresh air as much as possible with lots of walks. He seemed to love being outside although I'm not sure he ever realized we were outside since he slept the entire time! Sat we walked around our neighborhood and heard a Little League game going on so we stopped and watched for about 45 minutes. It was a nice 3 hour outdoor adventure. Chase gave us our first rough night Sat night. He woke up about 2 and after eating just started crying and wouldn't stop. This is the first time he had done this so I felt pretty helpless! Craig woke up from me saying "Chase I don't know what to do!" Ha Ha - finally about an hour of crying later Craig got him to calm down and go back to sleep. Poor little guy - hopefully this won't happen too often:)
Sunday we got out again and went down to our favorite coffee shop and got some breakfast. The owner was so cute because she has seen us and gotten to know us over the past few months. She saw the disappearance of my baby belly and was so excited and came outside to meet Chase! Then we walked around down by the beach. We ran into another Little League game at the fields by the beach and it was the 12 year olds and they were really good! We ended up watching the game and it was to go to the championship so the kids and the parents were out of control into it (especially the parents!) We walked around the beach and on the boardwalk for another hour and headed home.Grandma and Grandpa Thuerbach came up around 3 to see Chase and we went back down to the beach with them since they hadn't ever been down there. Chase got a lot of beach action today! It seemed to do the trick because he slept great and when he woke up to feed twice last night he went back to sleep pretty easily!

Enjoy some pictures from this weekend!
